The Vampire Diaries Pilot

Oh, what a year for vampires. It seems like with Twilight taking over is there room for more? Hopefully, because with this show coming out, and the Cirque Du Freak movie coming soon its sure to be a bloody good time. These book were written first, however some how the crappy writing of Stephanie Meyer seems to be the favourite. Hopefully people will give this series a chance, but we will have to wait and see.

The Pilot episode was pretty good. The main character Elena is going back to school after losing her parents a few months ago. She is living with her aunt and her younger brother Jeremy. Neither really are doing well, and they both are showing it in their own ways. Elena is sad, but faking the happiness, and is trying to help her brother more then herself. Jeremy is into drinking and drugs.

Other characters include Elena's best friend Bonnie, the bitchy friend Caroline, ex-boyfriend Matt, and his sister Vicki(who Jeremy had a summer fling with and still likes) and this sort of a bully Tyler.

The new guy then shows up who all the girls keep staring at especially Caroline, but he is after one thing. Elena! Apparently she looks like his ex or somebody from his past. The new guy is Stephan Salvatore,a vampire. They have chemistry right away.

The party to start off the year, starts off not to well. Jeremy is drinking and Vicki tells him that she doesn't really want to be with him, but he ends up kind of saving her from Tyler who is trying to hook up with her even when she says no. Caroline hits on Stephan and he choots her right down because he wants Elena. Elena and Stephan hit it off even more but screams interrupt when Jeremy finds Vicki with her throat cut open. She was attacked by a vampire, of course no one knows this, except Vicki who is clinging onto life.

Stephan races off to his uncles house who he is staying with and is wondering what is going on, and who is in the town. He knows it wasn't a wild animal. That's when his brother Damon shows up. They get into a fight, with Stephan just wanting him to leave.Damon says he isn't leaving and hes just getting started!

The great thing about this show is it sticks by a lot of vampire rules, like they have to be invited into peoples houses, they can't just walk in. The Sunlight will bother them ,unless they have something protecting them ,in this case a ring. Things like that are going to set this apart from Twilight and i hope it continues to be an entertaining show.
